Job Description
As an Officer – QA, you will be responsible for conducting microbiological analysis of raw materials, packaging, in-process products, finished goods, and environmental monitoring samples. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with AN and BIS methods, providing microbiological feedback to manufacturing sections, and maintaining the highest standards of laboratory safety and
documentation practices.Key Responsibilities
- Collect and test samples (ingredients, EMP, packaging, in-process, finished products) as per sample plans and AN/BIS methods.
- Analyze BIS-approved products, release batches, and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and sterilize microbiological media, conduct growth promotion testing, and ensure accurate documentation of results.
- Track laboratory consumables and conduct biological indicator tests for autoclaves.
- Decontaminate biohazard waste and manage lab safety practices.
- Perform calibration and verification of glassware and equipment.
- Strictly follow GLP, GDP, and record-keeping practices.
- Maintain 5S and GHK practices in the microbiology lab.
- Report deviations (OOS, OAL) promptly to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with EHS rules, PPE usage, and Abbott standards.
- Support additional projects, training, and the implementation of new ideas.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate in Microbiology/Dairy Microbiology with 1–2 years’ food industry experience, OR Graduate in Microbiology with 3–4 years’ food industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with BAM, APHA, AOAC, and BIS microbiological methods for nutritional powders.
- Knowledge of QA checks for raw material, packaging, in-process, finished products, and environmental monitoring.
- Strong understanding of Food Safety Management Systems, GLP, GDP, and lab safety procedures.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, adaptability, and integrity.
