Call for Applications
BEST, in collaboration with the Biocon Foundation, is inviting applications for the BioWISE Scholarship Program, an initiative to support female students currently in their final year or recently completed their Post-Graduate (PG) studies in life sciences-related streams.
The program will award scholarships to 15 PG students and provide mentoring support from academia, industry, and startups to foster their growth in science and research. This is a statewide program across Karnataka.
This initiative empowers and inspires talented female students in STEM disciplines, offering them hands-on experience, scholarships, and mentorship. We are announcing this program across Karnataka to support women’s entry and continued participation in STEM, with a focus on life sciences.
We invite final-year postgraduate students to apply for a 6 months internship (as part of their dissertation) at Bengaluru’s most prestigious, Academic, Research and Development (R&D) institutions and industries. This internship is tailored to offer expert mentorship, practical exposure and chance to learning emerging tech solutions in life sciences.

Eligibility:
Post-Graduate students focusing on fields related to life sciences like Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Pharma, Applied Biology, & related subjects are encouraged to apply.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered
- Must be a female student currently in the final year of Post-Graduate studies or completed their degree in the last year
- Belongs to a family with a total annual income of less than 6 lakhs rupees
- Must have consistently demonstrated strong academic performance, with a minimum of 75% marks
- Should be enrolled in or graduated from any college or university located in Karnataka. Candidates from Tier-2 and Tier-3 colleges will be given preference.
- Must exhibit a clear and demonstrated interest in applied hashtag#research.
- First-generation learners will be given preference
- Candidates and close relatives associated with our promoting partners (Biocon Group, BeST, or NCBS) are not eligible to apply.
