Position Overview
The Tata Medical Center Biorepository (TiMBR) is seeking a Biorepository Officer/Biobank Research Assistant to manage the collection, processing, storage, and ethical release of patient samples for research projects approved by the Institutional Review Board and TiMBR Oversight Committee.
Key Responsibilities
Biobank Duties
- Maintain and follow biorepository protocols for sample collection, preparation, storage, and retrieval.
- Liaise with clinical staff for sample collection.
- Log and archive biological specimens.
- Oversee the biorepository database and sample withdrawal requests.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and contribute to reports and publications.
Other Duties
- Assist with audits and inspections.
- Maintain protocol files and patient information data.
- Document sample data according to guidelines.
- Assist with data entry and database maintenance.
General Duties
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Adhere to institutional policies.
- Collaborate with researchers and clinicians for efficient processes.
Person Specification
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a biological science or related field.
- Experience in laboratory-based research, sample handling, and safety procedures.
