About the Company
Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following positions under the ICMR project titled “Exploring the pathobiology of brain aging in the Indian population: developing a public domain reference atlas and spatial transcriptome facility for aging research”.
Job Details
POSITION I
Project Research Scientist – I
- Number of posts: 01
- Upper age limit: 35 years
- Remuneration: 56,000/- per month + 20% HRA
- Essential qualifications:
- First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in Life sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaco-informatics, bioinformatics, computational biology, and allied sciences.
- Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees with PhD.
- For Engineering/IT/CS – First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years.
- Desirable qualifications: 3-4 years’ experience after a master’s degree in NGS data analysis (RNAseq, single-cell data, Exome/whole genome) using HPC. Expertise in coding and knowledge of R is a must.
POSITION II
Project Technical Support-III
- Number of posts: 01
- Upper age limit: 35 years
- Remuneration: 28,000/- per month + 20% HRA
- Essential qualifications:
- 3 years Graduate in Science, Engineering, and Technology with 03 years of working experience in a biological/chemical laboratory or PG in a Science subject.
- For Engineering/IT/CS – First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years with 03 Years of experience.
- Desirable qualifications: Experience in NGS data analysis (RNAseq, single-cell data) with some experience in handling wet lab experiments.
POSITION III
Project Technical Support-II
- Number of posts: 01
- Upper age limit: 30 years
- Remuneration: 20,000/- per month + 20% HRA
- Essential qualifications: 12th in Science + Diploma (MLT/DMLT/Engineering) with 05 years of working experience in a biological/chemical laboratory or PG in a Science subject.
- Desirable qualifications: Experience in collecting and handling patient tissue samples, and collecting and managing patient metadata. Knowledge of tissue sectioning and immunohistochemistry will be an added advantage.

Selection Process
Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process. The list of shortlisted candidates’ names and the date of the interview will be published on the ILS website.
