Job Description:
As the appointed Project Scientist, I will work on projects focusing on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions during intracellular infections. The role requires hands-on research in BSL-2 and BSL-3 labs, supporting assays, infection models, and chemical screenings. Candidates must manage lab records, analyze data, prepare reports, and participate in consortium meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and team-based lab research in BSL-2 and BSL-3 settings.
- Culture and characterize clinical isolates and perform infection assays using cell and animal models.
- Perform drug testing, microscopy, RT-PCR, and data analysis using statistical tools.
- Design, validate, and troubleshoot experiments.
- Maintain accurate lab records and prepare detailed reports.
- Participate in regular research discussions and meetings.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in virology and immunology, particularly in the areas of tuberculosis and SARS-CoV-2.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- PhD in Biological Sciences (preferably Infection Biology)
- Experience with infectious agents and biological specimens (BSL-2/BSL-3)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
Highly Desirable:
- Research publications in virology or immunology
- Experience handling M. tuberculosis, SARS-CoV-2
- Assay development and miniaturization experience
- Familiarity with liquid handling platforms
