Position Overview
Feathersoft is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Computational Research Scientist with expertise in deep learning to join our R&D team. This role focuses on leveraging cutting-edge AI and machine learning techniques to solve complex biological challenges, particularly in enzyme optimization, metabolic engineering, and bio-process development. You’ll collaborate closely with biologists, engineers, and data scientists to accelerate the development of sustainable bio-alternatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy deep learning models to predict and optimize enzymes, proteins, and metabolic pathways.
• Perform computational modeling and simulation of metabolic networks to identify key control points.
• Build scalable data pipelines for integrating multi-omics datasets (genomic, proteomic, metabolic).
• Communicate research findings effectively to cross-functional teams through reports and presentations.
• Stay up to date with advancements in AI, synthetic biology, and computational biology to foster innovation.
Required Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with a focus on deep learning applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Proficiency in Python (preferred), with familiarity in R or MATLAB being a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, or systems biology.
• Experience with metabolic flux analysis or constraint-based modeling (e.g., FBA, COBRA Toolbox).
• Familiarity with protein structure prediction and molecular modeling tools.
• Exposure to biotech R&D environments, start-ups, or industrial bio-innovation projects.
