Positions Available under the DBT-Sponsored Project
Walk in interview will be conducted for the position of Two (02) Junior Research Fellow (Temporary) under a project entitled “Anti-Diabetic properties of Phalap: Unraveling the ethnomedicinal claim by understanding their effect on enzymatic and gene regulation” sponsored by DBT at Biotechnology and Biochemistry Department of Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Tea Research Association, Jorhat, Assam as per following details. The appointments will be purely on temporary basis and hence the Institute will not provide any employment after completion of the project.

Position Details: JRF / Project Associate-1
The upper Age Limit: 35 years
No of post: 1 (One)
Qualification: Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Life Sciences. Desirable qualifications: Research experience in relevant field.
Monthly Fellowship: For JRF, Rs. 31,000 + 9% HRA per month / For Project Associate-1, Rs. 25,000 + 9% HRA per month
Job Responsibility: Project-related research work. The candidate will have the responsibility for field visits, to perform mammalian cell culture and molecular biology experiments. Candidate will also get opportunity to register for higher degree (subject to attainment of required qualification).

Up to 31.07.2028.Date of Walk-in Interview: 28.08.2025; Time: 10.30 am.
Venue of the Interview: Neem Theme Hall, Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Jorhat, Assam-785008
General Instructions:
- The above post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
- Candidates should bring duly filled-up application form as enclosed below during interview and also should send a copy to the email id [email protected] on or before 27th August 2025.
- Walk-in interview will be conducted for selection of the candidates on 28th August, 2025 at 10.30 am (Interested candidates should Report on or before 10.00 AM. Candidates arriving after the specified time will not be considered) at Neem Them Hall, Tocklai Tea Research Institute, TRA, Jorhat.
- Candidate must carry a set of photocopies of testimonials of qualifications, mark sheets, experience, date of birth etc. (with the originals for verification) along with the fill in application form as enclosed.
- No TA/DA or any other expenses will be provided for attending the interview.
- All other terms and conditions of appointment will be governed by prevailing Institute’s rules and decision of the Chairman of the Selection Committee will be final and binding.
- Candidates should report on 10 AM at venue on the day of interview.
- Selected candidates need to join immediately or at very short notice.
- The Director, Tea Research Association, Tocklai Tea Research Institute reserves all rights of selection or rejection of a candidature including cancellation of the interview without assigning any reason thereof.
