Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) is the umbrella organization at IIT Bombay dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and nurturing technology-based start-ups. SINE manages a business incubator that provides comprehensive “start-to-scale” support to innovators and facilitates the transformation of cutting-edge research into successful entrepreneurial ventures.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Executive – Prototype/ Research Lab to manage and operate the SINE BioLab, a facility utilized by start-ups and innovators for healthcare and biotechnology product development. The role involves ensuring smooth operations, safety compliance, and effective support to start-ups in their R&D journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and smooth functioning of the BioLab and its instruments.
• Maintain usage logs, records of samples, and documentation of equipment charges.
• Manage procurement, ordering, and organization of lab supplies, consumables, chemicals, and gases in compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate procurement processes and related documentation for new laboratory equipment.
• Organize equipment installations, demonstrations, preventive maintenance, and breakdown service visits.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines, good laboratory practices, and maintain a clean, orderly lab environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or related fields.
• 1–3 years of experience working in a laboratory setup (preferably in incubators, research centers, or academic institutions).
• Hands-on experience in handling laboratory equipment.
• Knowledge of quality, health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); candidates with advanced Excel/database skills will be preferred.
• Strong ability to multi-task, meet timelines with accuracy, and work collaboratively in a team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
