Job Description
The selected Project Fellow will contribute to the research project titled “Plant Essential Oil-Based Nanoemulsions: A Novel Green Alternative for the Control of Agricultural Pests, Stored Product Pests, Vector-Borne Diseases, and as Edible Coatings for Fresh-Cut Fruits and Vegetables”
. The role involves laboratory and applied research under the supervision of Dr. Susmita Das (PI) at the Department of Botany, University of Calcutta.Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and testing of nanoemulsions from plant essential oils.
- Conduct laboratory experiments on pest control and edible coating formulations.
- Collect, analyze, and document experimental data.
- Support the PI and research team in project-related activities.
- Present findings during project discussions and reviews.
Qualifications
- 1st Class in B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Botany / Food & Nutrition / Biological Sciences.
- Maximum age limit: 25 years as on 01/04/2025 (relaxation for SC/ST and other reserved categories as per CU norms).
Fellowship & Duration
- Fellowship: ₹8,000 per month (consolidated).
- Duration: Maximum of 8 months.
