The selected candidate will contribute to the CSIR-sponsored project “
Bioresource Conservation and Prospection (MMP025302)” under WP-02 “Bio-prospection of Mangroves.”Responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing experiments.
- Visiting mangrove sites for sample collection and research activities.
- Supporting the project objectives through laboratory and fieldwork.

Qualification & Experience
- Education:
- Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Microbiology / Biotechnology.
- Experience:
- Basic knowledge of PGPRs and microbial community NGS.
- Skills/ethics to design, execute, and handle experimental work.
Emoluments
- ₹ 31,000/- + HRA – For candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship) or GATE or other national level examinations conducted by DBT/DST or equivalent bodies.
- ₹ 25,000/- + HRA – For candidates not falling under the above category.
Age Limit
- 35 years or less, as of the last date of application.
- Age relaxation as per CSIR rules.
Other Details
- Duration: Purely temporary, co-terminus with the project.
- Maximum tenure: Engagement in CSIR projects shall not exceed 06 years in total (across CSMCRI or other CSIR labs).
- Note: This position does not guarantee extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI.
