About the Role:
Panjab University, Chandigarh, is hiring for the post of “Project Technical Support-III” in an ICMR-funded extramural research project titled “Designing and Developing Peptide-based Novel Therapeutics.” This is a temporary position and will be co-terminus with the project.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will be involved in in silico, in vitro, and in vivo studies. Candidates are expected to have hands-on experience in laboratory techniques and computational tools relevant to the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct various biochemical and spectrophotometric assays.
- Perform cell culture and molecular biology experiments
- Utilize molecular modeling software and bioinformatics tools
- Carry out biomolecular simulations
- Write scientific reports and assist in manuscript preparation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team
Qualifications:
- M.Sc./M.Tech or equivalent in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Natural Sciences, or allied areas
- Excellent academic record
- Qualified UGC/NET/SLET/GATE or equivalent preferred
- Experience in molecular biology techniques and bioinformatics
- Knowledge of Python programming is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Research interest in molecular biology, computational biology, and biophysics
