Job Description:
The Food Technologist on the Enterprise Continuous Improvement team fills a critical role in the successful development and execution of the APAC-EMEA Region’s multi-year continuous improvement plan. Utilizing engineering and food science principles, this role will identify, develop, validate, and implement product and process optimization projects, including recipe modifications, ingredient and supplier adjustments, process enhancements, supply chain continuity initiatives, and new technology applications.
Successful candidates will lead and support projects targeting $1M – $2M+ in annual savings and participate in initiatives related to quality, safety, and capacity. This technical role requires up-to-date knowledge of products, processes, technologies, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead optimization and validation projects using Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Develop technical solutions through a strong understanding of food science and process engineering.
- Maintain strong knowledge of manufacturing, safety, ingredient handling, packaging, QA, and GMP.
- Operate lab and pilot-scale instrumentation.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives from concept to implementation.
- Travel up to 15% as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Food Process, or Agricultural Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology.
- Preferred: Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated application of food science and process engineering in manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of TPM, lean manufacturing, and six sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred).
- Exceptional planning, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP S4.
- Ability to work flexible hours and manage multiple priorities.
