Punjab University College of Basic Sciences & Humanities at PAU, Ludhiana, invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow on a contractual basis. The position is part of the “DBT-BUILDER-Punjab Agricultural University Interdisciplinary Life Science programme for Advanced Research and Education” scheme financed by the Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, DBT, New Delhi.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 1 Post
Salary: ₹31,000/- per month + 16% HRA

Essential Qualifications:

• B.Sc/B.Sc Medical/Biochemistry/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/B.Tech. Biotechnology with minimum OCPA 6.00/10.00 or 60% marks.

• M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Life Sciences/Microbiology with minimum OCPA 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks.

Note I: Candidates with a Ph.D. in the relevant subject may apply even without a Master’s degree in that subject.
Note II: Candidates with a 3-year Bachelor’s degree must have qualified for ARS-NET/DBT/CSIR-UGC NET/GATE.

Desirable Qualification:

• Experience in biochemical experiments related to biotic/abiotic stress

• Hands-on experience in molecular biology and bioinformatics

• Soil microbiology exposure
