Food Technology Research Jobs at Punjab Agricultural University | Apply Now for the JRF Position
Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, has invited applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Food Science and Technology under the project “Use of ultrasound technologies for extending quality and shelf life of whole wheat based products.” This fellowship offers a monthly salary of up to ₹37,000 + HRA, with an application deadline of 15th September 2025 and an interview scheduled for 23rd September 2025.
Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Fellowship:
- With NET: ₹37,000 + 16% HRA per month
- Without NET: ₹26,000 + 16% HRA per month
Duration: Six months or till project termination, whichever is earlier
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
- B.Sc. (Agri) (Hons.) / B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture / B.Sc. Food Science & Technology / B.Tech. Food Technology / B.Sc. Nutrition & Dietetics / B.Sc. Life Science (or equivalent) with at least 60% marks (OCPA 6.00/10.00).
- Master’s in Food Technology / Food Science & Technology / Food Technology (Processing Technology) / Food Processing Technology with 65% marks (OCPA 6.50/10.00).
Additional Conditions:
- NET qualification required for higher fellowship.
- Candidates with Ph.D. in the relevant discipline are exempt from NET.

Applications must be submitted on the prescribed form (available at the Department office, 9 AM–5 PM) along with:
- A Bank Draft of ₹200/- in favor of Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana
- Attested copies of all certificates

No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
Important Notes:
- Ph.D. holders in relevant subjects are eligible even without a Master’s degree.
- Candidates with a Doctoral degree and a minimum OCPA 6.50/10.00 (65% marks) are exempted from NET.
