Job Description
The Project Associate-I will contribute to research under the NIPGR Short Term Fellowship Scheme, focusing on genome-edited rice lines. The role includes molecular, metabolic, and phenotypic characterization, applying advanced techniques such as PCR, CRISPR-Cas9, and genome analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct molecular and phenotypic analysis of genome-edited rice plants.
- Perform laboratory techniques including PCR and CRISPR-Cas9 editing.
- Manage and document experimental data accurately.
- Assist in the maintenance and handling of rice plants in research settings.
- Collaborate with the supervising scientist and research team for project progress.
Qualifications
Essential:

Master’s degree in any branch of Biological or Life Sciences with at least 60% marks (or equivalent).
Preferred:
-
Hands-on experience with PCR, CRISPR-Cas9, genome-edited plant analysis, and rice plant handling.
Fellowship & Duration
- Fellowship amount as per DBT/DST norms.
- Purely temporary position for up to three years, with initial appointment for one year (extendable based on performance).
