About the job:
Excelra is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Computational Biologist with expertise in Omics (NGS) analysis to join our Bioinformatics team. The selected candidate will play a key role in projects involving raw sequence analysis and downstream interpretation, with a focus on genomics data analysis, drug repurposing
, biomarker identification, patient stratification, disease modeling, and data integration.Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with 2 – 3 years of industrial experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field.
- Proficiency in scRNA-Seq and other Omics (NGS) data analysis.
- Strong understanding of computational biology data-management best practices.
- Experience with programming languages such as R, Python, and shell-script for data analysis.
- Familiarity with Docker, Nextflow, and machine learning is advantageous.
- Knowledge of population genomics, GWAS, WES/WGS sequencing data analyses, and statistical analyses.
- Experience with Linux environment, cloud computing, relational databases, and version control systems.
- Ability to generate scientific hypotheses and communicate effectively.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will collaborate with Excelra’s Bioinformatics group to analyze research data, work with diverse stakeholders in drug discovery, and present scientific hypotheses. Responsibilities include operational activities of Omics (NGS) projects, staying updated on scientific developments, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
