We do this by providing a trusted environment in which researchers can quickly, easily, and transparently share their discoveries, data, and research stories by publishing in peer-reviewed journals with an inclusive editorial threshold.
Responsibilities:
New Launches
- Ensure new journals are launched on schedule and meet the required board member and content thresholds
- Lead on the development of proposals for new launches in your subject area
Content Development
- Develop a journal development strategy for each journal in your portfolio
- Contribute to subject-specific strategy development at Springer Nature
Peer Review Quality
- Oversee the handling of the content published in the Discover Series journals
- Investigate and resolve publishing or research ethics cases
Editorial Board Management
- Build excellent communications and relationships with Editorial Board Members
- Contribute to the recruitment and training of new editorial board members
Building Awareness of Discover
- Contribute to marketing efforts
- Develop journal website content and features
Contribute to the Discover Team
- Support your colleagues and share expertise and experience
- Develop strong working relationships with colleagues in various departments
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Educated to PhD level or MS with research experience in Clinical Medicine, Health Science, or Biomedical Science
- Interest in open access publishing and scientific research
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Previous editorial/publishing sector experience is a strong plus
