Position Summary:
Jivanu Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Senior Research Scientist to join our cutting-edge R&D team in Bengaluru. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of microbiome-based innovation in a fast-growing biotechnology company. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in microbiome research, strong project leadership skills, and a proven record of impactful scientific contributions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute high-impact R&D projects focused on microbiome-based product development, including:
o Bacterial consortia isolation
o Individual strain isolation
o Strain engineering
o Experience with stool samples is preferred
• Analyze complex experimental data and ensure high-quality documentation and reproducibility
• Drive innovation by integrating advanced technologies, tools, and methodologies
• Collaborate across functional teams including bioinformatics, analytical sciences, and product development
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to a culture of scientific rigor and innovation
• Present research outcomes to internal and external stakeholders; contribute to publications, patents, and conferences
• Support regulatory documentation, grant writing, and technology transfer initiatives
Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years postdoctoral or industry experience, with a focus on translational or applied microbiome research
• Strong publication or patent track record demonstrating research excellence
• Hands-on experience with advanced microbiome methodologies and techniques
• Proven ability to manage scientific projects independently from concept to completion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in microbial consortia building, bacterial isolation, and microbiome therapeutics
• Education or work background from globally recognized institutions
• Experience in multicultural or cross-border collaborative research teams
• Understanding of intellectual property (IP), regulatory pathways, or translational research processes
