Job Summary:

The Drug Discovery and Development Division at Patanjali Research Foundation is seeking a motivated and experienced Research Scientist with demonstrated expertise in Drosophila melanogaster-based studies. The ideal candidate will design and execute experiments independently while working collaboratively with interdisciplinary research teams in a state-of-the-art laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Drosophila-based research in genetics, functional genomics, or molecular biology.
  • Maintain and manage Drosophila melanogaster
    stocks, perform routine culturing and genetic crosses.
  • Design and analyse independent experiments; prepare reports and documentation.
  • Handle microinjections, dissections, and phenotypic screenings.
  • Collaborate across research divisions for experimental planning and execution.
  • Ensure accurate laboratory records and adhere to research protocols.

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

  • M.Sc./M.Tech/Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with Drosophila melanogaster.
  • Solid understanding of Drosophila genetics, maintenance, and husbandry.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with behavioural or developmental assays in Drosophila.
  • Familiarity with imaging tools (e.g., fluorescence microscopy).
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques: PCR, Western blotting, RNAi, or CRISPR.
  • Data analysis using GraphPad, ImageJ, or R.
