Welcome to the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI). THSTI is dedicated to driving innovative translational research and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations to transform ideas into solutions that enhance human health. Our various research centers and core facilities are at the forefront of cutting-edge discoveries in areas such as maternal and child health, viral therapeutics, tuberculosis research, drug discovery, and other related fields.
Applications are invited for the BRIC-THSTI-JNU Ph.D. program. Program for the monsoon session of 2025-26. Candidates from the fields of Medical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, and Information Sciences are eligible to apply.
Program Overview
Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, is accepting applications for the prestigious BRIC-THSTI-JNU Ph.D. Program for the academic year 2025–26 (Monsoon Session).
THSTI conducts high-impact translational research in collaboration with leading national and international partners to improve human health.

- Bio-design and Diagnostics
Facilities: BSL-3 Labs, Multi-Omics Core, Biorepository, Data Management Centre, Immunology Core, and more.
Life Sciences PhD Admission 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
- Domains Covered:
- Medical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Information Sciences, Mathematics
- Fellowship Requirements:
- JRF from CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/NBHM
- UGC (Category II/III) is also acceptable for Chemistry and Mathematics domains
- SRF of 3 years (extendable by 2 years) from recognized funding agencies
Fellowship must be valid for at least 4 months from the application deadline.
Life Sciences PhD Admission 2025 – Selection Procedure
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person interview at THSTI, Faridabad.
- The final selection will be based on the interview performance.

The reservation is applicable as per the Government of India norms. Relevant category certificates must be uploaded during the application.

Ph.D. Governance and Structure
- Governed by JNU’s Ph.D. rules.
- Selected candidates will undergo 2 semesters of coursework at THSTI.
- On successful completion, registration will be forwarded to JNU.
- The award of a Ph.D. will be subject to fulfilling all JNU academic requirements.
- Hostel accommodation may be offered instead of HRA.
