Purpose of the Role
Discover was launched under the Springer imprint in 2020. Assistant Editors (AEs) are responsible for processing manuscripts and ensuring smooth communication between various parties involved in the publication
process.Responsibilities
- Overseeing the overall pipeline of the Journal and processing manuscripts
- Performing enhanced Quality Checks on manuscripts
- Inviting potential EBMs and Reviewers
- Supporting Editors and collaborating with the Journal Editorial staff
- Assessing decision recommendations and providing help/support
- Mentoring and supporting new team members
- Providing inputs on process improvements and training
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 2+ Years
Skills:
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Google Suite
- Good knowledge of performance metrics and organizational/time-management skills
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and decision-making skills
Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent in Life Science/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Computer Science
Eligibility: 12 months in the current role is required before applying for a new role
