Job Description
IISER Kolkata is hiring a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Biological Sciences for a high-impact ANRF-funded project on engineering synthetic microbial consortia to develop enzyme cocktails for lignocellulosic bioconversion.
Project Title: “Synthetic self-regulated microbial consortia for the production
of cellulase cocktail towards the synthesis of lignocellulose-based products”Project Focus:
The research will integrate:
- Molecular Biology Techniques
- Synthetic Biology
- Biosensor Design
- Protein Engineering
- Biochemical and Biophysical Characterization of Enzymes
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or related fields.
- Must fulfill ANRF eligibility criteria for JRF.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in any of the following areas:
- Molecular Biology
- Protein Biochemistry
- Protein Engineering
- Synthetic Biology
Duration:
- Initial Appointment: 6 months
- Extension: Based on satisfactory performance, renewable yearly throughout the project duration.
