About the role
ICON plc is currently seeking a Safety Scientist to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Safety Scientist at ICON, you will play a pivotal role in designing and analyzing clinical trials, interpreting complex medical data, and contributing to the advancement of innovative treatments and therapies.
Bachelors/Masters LifeSciences ICON Job – Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety surveillance and interpret safety data for assigned clinical projects.
- Coordinate aggregate safety reports (PSUR, DSUR, PBRER) and author/review relevant documents.
- Perform signal detection and signal management, including strategy documentation, data review, and reporting.
- Support risk management plans (RMP) and REMS documentation in line with regulatory expectations.
- Draft safety sections of protocols, investigator brochures (IB), and labeling documents.
- Collaborate with literature monitoring teams for routine PV and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain pharmacovigilance agreements, PSMFs, and compliance KPIs.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous process improvements.
Bachelors/Masters LifeSciences ICON Job – Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field (PhD preferred).
- Proven experience in drug safety/pharmacovigilance in clinical research or the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of ICH guidelines, GVP modules, EMA regulations, and FDA requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in safety data analysis, PV systems, and literature surveillance preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong project coordination and documentation skills.
