Position Summary:
Horizon Industries is seeking Fermentation Executive Officers to join its rapidly growing Biotech Division in Nashik. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in fermentation science and bioprocess development. You will play a critical role in R&D operations focused on microbial fermentation, with responsibilities spanning experimentation, process optimization, and data analysis. The role is well-suited for dynamic professionals eager to grow in a startup-driven, innovation-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and monitor fermentation processes including bioreactor operations
• Work with microbial cultures and probiotic strains (experience preferred)
• Perform lab analyses and assist in analytical method development
• Plan, execute, and document fermentation experiments at lab/pilot scale
• Analyze data to improve process performance and troubleshoot issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams to achieve project goals
• Ensure all experiments are conducted and documented in compliance with quality standards
• Prepare detailed technical reports, SOPs, and experimental summaries
• Contribute to scale-up efforts from bench to pilot or commercial production
• Adhere to safety, hygiene, and documentation practices in the lab and production areas
• Work in rotational shifts as per operational requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in fermentation, microbiology, or bioprocess engineering
• Strong understanding of fermentation science, microbial physiology, and process development
• Experience with pilot scale or commercial scale fermentation preferred
• Good knowledge of lab analysis techniques and analytical methods
• Proficient in documentation, data interpretation, and scientific reporting
• Familiarity with probiotic strains will be an added advantage
