RGCB Recruitment 2025 for Project Associate – Life Sciences Grads Apply

The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), Thiruvananthapuram, invites applications for the position of Project Associate-I in a DBT-MK Bhan-funded research project on SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid protein and its role in complement activation and thromboinflammation. This position is ideal for postgraduate life science candidates with experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques who are passionate about immunology and virology research. The appointment will be initially for one year, extendable based on performance.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates (Indian Citizens) for one position of Project Associate – I in the DBT-MK BHAN funded project “Role of SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid protein in complement activation and thromboinflammation” of Dr. Lekshmi V S in the laboratory of Dr. John B. Johnson at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), Akkulam Campus, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have a first class Post-Graduate Degree in any branch of Life Sciences.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates with atleast one year experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

AGE

Below 35 years as on June 23, 2025. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENT

₹ 25,000/- + 18% HRA per month. (Scholars who are not selected through
(a) National Eligibility Tests, CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions)

DURATION

Initially for a period of one year and extendable till termination of the project based on performance evaluation on yearly basis.

SELECTION PROCESS

1. Applications should be submitted online.
2. Candidates who are currently working in Government firms should send applications through proper channel.
3. Last date for receiving completed applications is June 23, 2025.
4. If a candidate wishes to apply for different positions, separate applications should be submitted for each position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.

Applications which are not in the prescribed format or without any proof of experience will summarily be rejected.

No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview.
