Research Associate / Sr. Research Associate – Fermentation/Bioprocess
We are looking for a Research Associate/ Sr. Research Associate who will join our Fermentation/Bioprocess team. We are a team of interdisciplinary people with a background ranging from business to research and food science with an ambition to create a better world through sustainable food production system using cellular agriculture. The ideal candidate should share our vision and values as energetic, creative as well as self-driven with an entrepreneurial mindset.
What will you do?
• Design, plan and execute experimental research for the development of recombinant proteins through precision fermentation, with hands-on work in E. coli systems.
• Apply process optimization techniques at the lab scale to improve recombinant protein yield, including media formulation, induction conditions, and fermentation parameters.
• Be the subject matter authority for all the bioprocess related processes and decisions.
• Serve as lead for a variety of projects tailored to advance continuously shifting company objectives related to production of different proteins by precision fermentation methods.
• Data analysis, interpretation, and communication of experimental results.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of fermenters and associated equipment’s.
• Assist in upstream and downstream process development to enhance expression, recovery, and purity of target proteins.
• To maintain timely documentation of research and product development work.
What makes you a great match for us?
• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related discipline.
• Research Associate/ Sr. Research Associate (1-4 years of experience).
• Lab to Industrial scale-up experience, including hands on experience with various equipment’s used in fermentation process.
• Conduct fermentation experiments using shake flasks, bench-scale and scaled-up bioreactors to optimize the production and achieve higher bioactivity.
• Conduct biochemical quantification assays with fermentation samples.
• Perform in-process contaminant profiling and analytical testing.
• Hands-on mentality with I can-do attitude.
• Passionate about food, health, sustainability and climate goals.
