About The Institute
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. Established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, IISER Pune was declared an Institute of National Importance in 2012. The institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following posts purely on temporary and contractual basis under a funded project related to genome editing in potato.
Research Associate & JRF Opportunity – For Research Associate-II Post
No. of Posts: 01
Minimum Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Life Sciences / Biology / Biotechnology / Botany / Science or related areas
Experience: 1 year of Post-doctoral experience in related areas
Preference: Candidates having 4 years of research experience in the related field of work particularly research experience in Recombinant DNA techniques, Genome editing and protein affinity studies will be preferred.
Job Requirements: CRISPR mediated editing of key potato genes followed by generation of Knock-out transgenic potato lines and characterization.
Tenure of the Appointment: Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Consolidated Emoluments per month: Rs. 61,000/- + 27% House Rent Allowance
Age Limit: Not more than 37 years
Research Associate & JRF Opportunity – For Junior Research Fellow Post
- No. of Posts: 01
- Minimum Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Botany / Life sciences or relevant fields. Should have a valid CSIR-NET / GATE / DBT – JRF / any other National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions OR equivalent scorecard.
- Experience: Experience in recombinant DNA tools, plant transformation methods, and CRISPR-mediated genome editing
- Job Reuirements: CRISPR mediated editing of key potato genes followed by generation of Knock-out transgenic potato lines and characterization
- Tenure of the Appointment: Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
- Consolidated Emoluments per month: Rs. 37,000/- + 27% House Rent Allowance
- Age Limit: Not more than 28 years
