The Centre of Excellence on CLEAN Energy and Environment (CLEANZ) at IIT Hyderabad is offering a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in the area of Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU). This one-year position (extendable based on performance) offers a unique chance to be part of innovative research transforming CO₂ into valuable fuels and chemicals using advanced bioelectrochemical systems.

Position Details:

Position Title: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Domain: Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU)

Location: CLEANZ CoE, IIT Hyderabad

Duration: 1 year (extendable upon review)

Deadline: 30 June 2025

Fellowship: ₹70,680 to ₹85,000/month (including HRA) based on postdoc experience

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Climate Change, or allied fields
  • Fresh Ph.D. (Provisional certificate required), with preference for post-doc experience
  • Familiarity with chromatography instruments and electrochemical techniques
  • Prior experience in experimental setup design is preferred
  • Strong academic background, research writing skills, and publication record in Scopus-indexed journals
  • Must not have published in predatory journals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a prototype for a bioelectrochemical CO₂ conversion system
  • Analyze CO₂ uptake efficiency under various conditions
  • Work with lipid-producing microbial strains
  • Manage lab activities and contribute to technical writing and reporting

  • Peer-reviewed publications
  • Technology scalability and innovation
