The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is an Institution of National Importance and a UNESCO Category II Centre. RCB focuses on excellence in education, research, and innovation at the intersection of biology and technology. RCB also houses the Bio-Incubator BBB, in collaboration with BIRAC, to support biotech startups with cutting-edge facilities, mentorship, and strategic funding support.
PhD Life Sciences Project Manager – Position Details:
Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad, Haryana
Project Title: “Setting up Early Translation Accelerator (ETA) entitled:- To transform academic discoveries in the field of industrial Biotechnology with possible commercial and societal impact into economically viable ventures and technologies”
Project Funding Agency: BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council)
No. of Positions:
01Tenure: Contractual; initially for 6 months, extendable up to 2 years
Age Limit: 40 years
Monthly Emoluments: Up to Rs. 90,000/- (Consolidated)
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification: PhD in Life Sciences or related disciplines from a recognized institution.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of post-PhD experience in scientific organizations or industry.
- Proven project management expertise in bioprocess technology, biotherapeutics, or biopharma.
- Experience managing interdisciplinary R&D teams and coordinating translational projects.
PhD Life Sciences Project Manager – Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement the Early Translation Accelerator (ETA) project.
- Scout promising academic technologies with commercial and societal potential.
- Liaise with inventors, academia, and industry to facilitate translational collaborations.
- Maintain detailed documentation for project selection, execution, and BIRAC reporting.
- Ensure optimal use of resources—technical, financial, and human.
- Coordinate legal agreements for IP, collaborations, and funding.
- Identify project risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
