Encipher Health Inc. is a growing healthcare solutions provider committed to improving clinical documentation and coding accuracy. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Coder with specialization in Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze patient medical records to accurately assign ICD-10-CM codes following HCC coding guidelines and official conventions.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and payer-specific policies, maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to clarify diagnoses and improve the quality of documentation.
- Use coding software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems effectively to enhance accuracy and productivity.
- Stay updated with changes in coding regulations, risk adjustment models, and payer-specific requirements.
- Participate in internal audits and support quality assurance initiatives to continuously enhance coding performance.
- Share knowledge, tools, and best practices with the team to foster a culture of compliance and excellence.
Required Qualifications:
✔ Certification in Medical Coding (CPC, CRC, CCS, or equivalent) – Mandatory
✔ 1 to 3 years of experience in medical coding, preferably with a strong focus in HCC
✔ In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, risk adjustment models, and HCC coding guidelines
✔ Proficient in using coding platforms and EHR systems
✔ Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✔ Team-oriented with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and multitask effectively
