As a Locum Associate Editor, you’ll join the editorial team of Communications Biology, a multidisciplinary open-access journal under the Nature Portfolio umbrella. This role is tailored for life science researchers—particularly in Computational Biology—who are ready to pivot from benchwork to science communication, peer review management, and editorial strategy.
Locum Associate Editor Job – Key Responsibilities
- Manage the peer review process for original research manuscripts.
- Make independent, well-reasoned editorial decisions based on reviewer insights.
- Collaborate with and guide an external Editorial Board in manuscript handling and training.
- Commission Reviews, Comments, and Editorials that shape journal scope and impact.
- Participate in conferences and build networks within the global life sciences community.
- Work closely with editors across Springer Nature to align on editorial strategies and policies.
Locum Associate Editor Job – Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- PhD in a biological science discipline (Computational Biology preferred).
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Strong understanding of scientific novelty, context, and editorial standards.
- Right to live and work in either India or China.
Desirable:
- Postdoctoral experience.
