Job Description
Main Responsibilities for Junior Molecular Biologist Job:
- Documentation of MDx lab from receipt to processing
- Assistance with tracking DNA, sample retrieval, and storage
- Conducting DNA extraction from different samples
- Performing sample dissection and quantification of DNA
- Agarose gel electrophoresis
- Assisting and conducting various molecular tests
- Tracking and maintaining molecular lab inventory
- Learning and conducting new tests as required
- Assisting with validation of new tests as Junior Molecular Biologist
- Assisting in drafting and proofreading SOPs
- Any other work assigned by the manager or Lab Director
- Cross-training in other departments as required
Required Competence:
- Education: M.Sc. Genetics/Molecular Biology or related; Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, genetics
- Prior molecular biology experience is an advantage
Special Requirements/Skills:
- DNA isolation and quantification
- Agarose gel electrophoresis
- PCR and handling biological samples as Junior Molecular Biologist
- Cell/tissue culture, Microsoft Office, quality control in biological assays
- Good communication, motivation to work hard and learn new skills
