Description of Lab:

The focus is on the genetics of brain tumors. We have a comprehensive approach that integrates altered genome and epigenome using high-throughput genomics/proteomics, structural modelling with dynamic simulations, and experimental approaches in patient-derived glioma organoids and mouse glioma models. Besides studying biology, our major aim is to develop next-generation target-specific inhibitors for glioma therapy.

Job Description:

• The KSS lab of the Microbiology and Cell Biology department of IISc is looking for individuals who are well-versed in Next Generation Sequencing and Structural Biology.
• The primary research interest of the lab is the genetics of brain tumors.
• The work will include analysis of NGS data (WGS, WES, RNA-Seq, RIP-Seq, and ChIP-Seq).
• Structural biology investigation will involve structural modelling of proteins and RNA, molecular dynamics simulations, and computational biophysics.
• A minimum of 1 year, preferably 2 years, of commitment is necessary.

Additional Skills Required:

• Applicants must have previous experience in NGS data analysis, Microarray data analysis, and structural bioinformatics.
• Applicants must be comfortable with the Linux operating system and command-line interface.
• Applicants must be well-versed in at least one programming language, R/ R/Python, etc.
• Applicants must be aware of protein structural modelling, molecular dynamics simulations, and computational biophysics.

Eligibility:

B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/MSc or higher in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology. NET/CSIR/BINC/GATE qualified will be preferred.
