ADVT. FOR THE PAID INTERNSHIP FOR PURSUING POST GRADUATE STUDENTS
DRL is a premier laboratory of DRDO situated in the North East region of India. Defence Research Laboratory (DRL) has focused its research and development activities on problems relevant to the troops deployed in North East India. The core areas include development of products and technologies for enhancing combat efficiency during jungle operations, vector borne disease surveillance and management, water quality amelioration and human waste management at high altitude. Besides, the laboratory collaborates with other DRDO and academic institutions on development of technologies for Armed Forces under diverse climatic conditions of NE India.
Application from eligible pursuing post graduation students who are pursuing in IInd year of their post graduation/ master degree are invited in the prescribed format (Appendix ‘A’) within 10 days from the date of publication of this advertisement for the following disciplines for a tenure of 06 months paid internship.

1. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Post Graduate/ Master degree: Pursuing Master degree (3rd / 4th Semester or IInd year) full time course in the respective discipline from a recognised Indian University/Institute.
2. DURATION OF INTERNSHIP:
The duration of internship/project work training will be for a period of 06 months. Completion Certificate will be issued to students after completed 06 months from date of joining the internship programme.
3. SELECTION PROCEDURE:
a. Pursuing Master degree (3rd / 4th Semester or IInd year) students. The student should have good academic track record with first division. (copy to be enclosed).
b. Candidates needs to apply through their respective institutes/university only.
c. Age Limit: Below 28 Years as on 10th day from the date of Advertisement (Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates).
4. PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:
By Email to [email protected] OR by speed post to Centre Head, Defence Research Laboratory, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Solmara, Tezpur -784501, Assam (with kind Attn:- To HRD Group).
5. PAYMENT OF STIPEND:
Stipend @ Rs. 5000/- per month (fix), will be paid to the candidates who enrolled for six month internship period. The stipend of the entire duration will be paid in two equal installments i.e. 15000/- after completion of 03 months and 15000/- after completion of 06 months of internship. Any other allowances/reimbursement etc., or stipend for less than six months period of internship, will not be paid during the entire period of internship. Other expenditure such as lodging, boarding, transport, medical etc., if any, will be borne by the individual concerned during the course of internship.
6. Stipend will be paid in bank account of the student after completion of three months and six months respectively.
7. Upon successful completion of the internship training which includes clearing of evaluation of project work and submission of project report and other formalities, certificate of completion will be awarded to the student.
8. If the student is unable to complete the internship and leaves in between the programme, then certificate will not be issued to such students. No payment will be made if a student does not complete a tenure of 03 months.
9. DRL-DRDO shall have no obligation to offer employment to such interns nor can an intern claim a right for employment on the grounds of completion of this internship.
10. No fees applicable for submission of this application form & any stage of selection process.

12. Incomplete/erroneous application received or received after due date will be rejected. No further communication in this regard will be entertained.
13. Mode of selection:
Through Online Interview. Selection will be based entirely on merit in interview. No communication will be undertaken for rejected candidates.
14. The management reserves the right to change the vacancy position or selection criteria at any point during selection process of the aforesaid internship scheme without assigning any reason whatsoever.
15. Selected students will have to submit the following documents at the time of joining:
a. Police verification from local police station. Acknowledgement received from Police station to be submitted at the time of joining (if selected).
b. Undertaking for adherence to Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923.
c. Undertaking that interns will follow IT rules and regulations applicable for Ministry of Defence and its amendments thereof.
d. Selected students need to provide the bank details for transfer of stipend.
e. Medical fitness certificate from authorised medical practitioner holding an MBBS degree.
f. At the time of joining, student is required to bring the Aadhaar Card (in original) along with institute ID card for verification. They should also submit 03 nos. Passport size photographs at the time of joining.
g. All previous semesters marks sheet in original for verification should be brought.
h. Original documents will be returned immediately after verification.
i. Any other documents if required, will be communicated to the student at the time of selection/joining.
