Engagement to the positions of Project Associate-I and Project Assistant – II on temporary basis to work in CSIR-CLRI
CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai is a National Laboratory under the aegis of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). It is one of the World’s premier Institutes engaged in Research & Development in the area of Leather Science & Technology and associated with several National & International Programs.
CSIR-CLRI desires to engage talented candidates as Project Associate-I on temporary basis in various projects tenable at CLRI as per qualification, age etc., detailed in the table below:

(ii) Data collection, wastewater effluent sampling, testing, and preparation of technical reports. (iii) MS Office and AutoCAD. | One year | Rs. 25,000/- plus HRA | 35 years |

Note: Tenure mentioned above may be extendable. In any case, it is co-terminus with the project or till such time this requirement exists whichever is earlier.
Relaxation in Age Limit:
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/Women – 5 years
Candidates belonging to OBC – 3 years
As per Govt. of India instructions issued from time to time.
I. Additional Note:
As per CSIR letter No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024, the total tenure of the project staff shall not exceed 6 or 7 years under any circumstances. Applicants who have completed 6 or 7 years in any CSIR Lab/Institute as Project Staff are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
II. Mode of Selection:
Candidates fulfilling the above-mentioned qualification and age criteria may appear for the Written Test / Interview.
2. General Terms and Conditions:
a) These are purely temporary positions and co-terminus with the projects.
b) The date of determining qualification and age shall be the date of Written Test / Interview.
c) Applications submitted other than in the enclosed prescribed Application form will not be considered.
d) Candidates should NOT send their applications by post/speed post/courier.
e) The prescribed qualifications should have been obtained through recognized Universities/Institutions.
f) Incomplete application form without requisite information, certificates/documents, photograph are liable to be rejected.
g) Any discrepancy in the application and original documents will make the candidate ineligible.
h) If found later that the candidate provided incorrect/withheld information or does not fulfill eligibility criteria, candidature shall be cancelled.
i) Candidates attending the interview must bring the duly signed application form, self-attested photocopies of certificates/marksheets, and original documents for verification.
j) Without application form and requisite certificates/marksheets, candidates will not be allowed to attend the interview.
k) No candidate will be allowed to report for written test after 10:00 AM.
l) No candidate will be allowed to report for interview after:
• 11:00 AM for 09:00 AM reporting slots
• 02:30 PM for 01:30 PM reporting slots
m) No travelling allowance will be paid for attending the Written Test / Interview.
n) All applicants must fulfill the essential qualifications and other conditions as on the date of interview.
o) Certificates/documents in languages other than Hindi/English must be accompanied with English transcript attested by Gazetted Officer or Notary.
p) Canvassing in any form or political influence will be treated as disqualification.
q) The Director, CSIR-CLRI reserves the right to amend, delete, or add terms & conditions to this notification.
3. Other Conditions:
a) Suitable candidates will be empaneled for future project requirements.
b) Final year/semester students awaiting results are NOT ELIGIBLE.
c) Tenure may be curtailed/extendable and is co-terminus with the project.
d) In case of selection, original certificates must be produced again at the time of joining.
e) These positions are purely temporary and do not guarantee permanent appointment.
f) The Director, CSIR-CLRI reserves the right to cancel the notification or change the number of positions.
g) The decision of the Director, CSIR-CLRI in all matters is final.
