Project Title: “Deciphering Protein Folding Dynamics and Cell Mechanics ex vivo”

PI: Dr. Sabyasachi Rakshit, Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemical Sciences

Research Focus:

  • High-precision Magnetic tweezers-based single-molecule studies
  • Ex vivo mechanics of chick hair cells
  • Protein design, molecular biology, AFM, and fluorescence microscopy

Junior Research Fellow Opportunity – Position Details

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Duration: 1 year, extendable based on performance

Vacancy: 1

PhD Pathway: The Candidate may be absorbed into a PhD program by mutual agreement

Eligibility Criteria for Junior Research Fellow Opportunity

Essential Qualifications

  • 5-year Master’s degree in Physical, Chemical, Biological, or Mathematical Sciences
    OR
  • 4-year Engineering degree in any discipline
  • NET or GATE qualification is mandatory for JRF consideration

Desirable Skills

  • Strong interest in single-molecule techniques (AFM, fluorescence microscopy)
  • Willingness to engage in instrumentation, molecular, and cell biology
  • Curiosity-driven and interdisciplinary mindset

Fellowship & Emoluments

Stipend (Year-wise, as per project norms):

  • ₹31,000/month + HRA (Year 1)
  • ₹31,000/month + HRA (Year 2)
  • ₹35,000/month + HRA (Year 3) (As per DBT project norms)
