Project Title: “Deciphering Protein Folding Dynamics and Cell Mechanics ex vivo”
PI: Dr. Sabyasachi Rakshit, Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemical Sciences

Research Focus:
- High-precision Magnetic tweezers-based single-molecule studies
- Ex vivo mechanics of chick hair cells
- Protein design, molecular biology, AFM, and fluorescence microscopy

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Duration: 1 year, extendable based on performance

PhD Pathway: The Candidate may be absorbed into a PhD program by mutual agreement
Eligibility Criteria for Junior Research Fellow Opportunity
Essential Qualifications
- 5-year Master’s degree in Physical, Chemical, Biological, or Mathematical Sciences
OR - 4-year Engineering degree in any discipline
- NET or GATE qualification is mandatory for JRF consideration
Desirable Skills
- Strong interest in single-molecule techniques (AFM, fluorescence microscopy)
- Willingness to engage in instrumentation, molecular, and cell biology
- Curiosity-driven and interdisciplinary mindset
Fellowship & Emoluments
Stipend (Year-wise, as per project norms):
- ₹31,000/month + HRA (Year 1)
- ₹31,000/month + HRA (Year 2)
- ₹35,000/month + HRA (Year 3) (As per DBT project norms)
