Job Overview:
Assist in the technical data management leadership on a large/global project, or multiple projects, responsible for the Thesaurus Management; and assist in the technical delivery of medical coded data according to client quality and integrity specifications, and project timelines.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical medical data coding aspects of assigned projects with supervision.
Work with Management and aid in personal career development, interpersonal skills, and achievement of competency standards. - Collaborate with the Coding team and Lead Data Reviewer on all coding aspects for project(s) assignments, including start-up, maintenance, and completion activities.
- Assist the project liaison, including provision of project-specific coding status.
- Assist with implementing solutions to project data management coding issues and concerns.
- Review the data management plan (wherever coding sections are applicable) and/or study-specific dictionary coding conventions and specifications.
- Support the set-up, maintenance, and closure of the data management aspects of the project to ensure consistent, cohesive data handling and quality of coded clinical data.
- Achieve client satisfaction by delivering quality medical coded data, on time and on budget.
- Maintain Medical Coding competencies via participation in internal and external training seminars.
- Support globally based project staff on achieving client satisfaction (internal and external) through delivering quality medical coded data, on time and budget.
- Bring forward solutions for process and efficiency improvement on assigned projects.
- Assist with the dictionary verification on assigned projects.
- All other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications (Minimum Required):
- University/college degree (life sciences, health sciences, information technology, or related subjects) or a certification in allied health professions from an appropriate accredited institution.
- Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience instead of educational requirements.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Experience (Minimum Required):
- Minimum two (2-3) years of relevant work experience in data management.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Basic knowledge of the medical coding process and various coding tools (e.g., Medidata Coder, Central Coding, etc.).
- Knowledge of clinical trial process and data management, clinical operations, biometrics, quality management, and systems applications to support operations.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: Office or home-based environment.
