This Research Assistant position is aligned with an ICSSR project being conducted by the Amrita School of Agricultural Sciences. The project seeks to explore and address key challenges in agricultural development and rural empowerment through evidence-based social science research.

Job Overview

• Position Title: Research Assistant – Amrita School of Agricultural Sciences

• Location: Arasampalayam Campus, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

• Vacancies Available: 2 Positions

Candidates applying for this role must meet the following educational qualifications:

• Ph.D. / Postgraduate degree in any of the following disciplines:

  • Agricultural Extension

  • Plant Breeding

  • Agronomy

  • Any Social Science discipline

  • OR any PG degree with a UG in Agriculture

Key Responsibilities for Research Assistant:

• Conducting field trials and surveys for data collection

• Data handling and statistical analysis using tools like SPSS, STATA, and R

• Developing research documentation and reports

• Supporting research design, hypothesis formulation, and implementation strategies

• Collaborating with team members and faculty on project execution

• Communicating research findings effectively in Tamil and English

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and research capabilities as Research Assistant

• Proven knowledge of research methodologies

• Proficiency in MS Office and statistical software (SPSS, STATA, R)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Tamil and English

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
