R&D Sensory Scientist at DIAGEO, MSc in Food Science Apply!
DIAGEO India, a leading global beverage alcohol company, is seeking a passionate and skilled Assistant Manager in Research & Development with a specialization in Sensory Science to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. In this role, you will contribute to sensory training, consumer guidance testing, and provide crucial sensory quality inputs into various R&D projects, playing a key part in innovation and product development. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Sensory Science:
- Provide inputs into sensory training, involve in maintenance and training of descriptive and internal panels.
- Proficient in consumer guidance testing and can clearly communicate benefit and differences from Competitive Products (CP) with cross-functional teams.
- Provide sensory quality inputs into R&D projects, compatibility/shelf-life studies & Business As Usual (BAU) activities.
- Develop and implement novel sensory and consumer research methodologies in support of innovation and product development.
- Demonstrate proven skills in panel training, including the use of statistical and qualitative skills to identify potential issues early.
- Support the development of comprehensive Technical Learning Plans (TLPs) and challenge ideas where appropriate.
- Maintain a strong network of external partners and colleagues to gather insights.
- Identify when current sensory methods need modification.
- Communicate results and proposals efficiently to the technical community.
- Perform sensory analyses for R&D projects, Raw Materials (RMs), routine samples, New Product Development (NPD), innovation, and export consignment samples, and input final output data of test results into Compusense and XLStat.

- Effectively manage and prioritize objectives to consistently achieve objectives and business results.
- Work with leadership guidance to execute experiments to accomplish research/project objectives within budget.
- Apply knowledge of industry trends and internal/external developments to suggest improvements in individual and group performance.

- Identify broader opportunities for their work and cultivate a search and spin atmosphere.
- Understand and adhere to the appropriate legal and regulatory requirements of the region and seek opportunities within regulations.

Qualification:
- MSc in Food Science / Sensory Science / Relevant industry
Experience:
- 3-5 Years of relevant project and/or research experience (food or beverage).
Knowledge & skills:
- Sound technical knowledge in R&D (Sensory science/NPD)
- Data management & interpretation skills.
- Experience in generating Consumer Insights
- Working knowledge on the use of statistics for data validation.
- Ability to interpret data and make conclusions. Use of statistical tools for data analysis.
- Presentation skills
