Overview:
Novonesis seeks an Application Scientist to join our MEIA Technical Services and Innovation team for Bioenergy. This role involves collaborating with Sales & Marketing to deliver cutting-edge scientific and technical support in the Bioenergy sector. As a key player in the Biofuels Innovation team, you will be instrumental in launching new yeast and
enzyme solutions from the laboratory to the plant scale.Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers to implement innovative bio-solutions in ethanol production
- Support global and regional launches of new yeast and enzyme solutions
- Conduct lab-scale proof of concept to plant-scale application
- Analyze data using design of experiments (DOE) and translate technical insights for customers
Requirements:
- Strong scientific skills based on a university degree in Chemistry, Chemical / Industrial / Biotech / Bioprocess Engineering, or related.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D degree is a clear asset, but not essential
- Relevant experience in Bioenergy, corn-ethanol, or cellulosic ethanol (E2G) industry. Experience within enzyme and yeast applications in Bioenergy
- Knowledge of lab-scale fermentation protocols and expertise in plant-scale fermentation
- Experience with design of experiments (DOE), analyzing data, and a basic understanding of programming to develop Proof of Concepts
- Ability to translate technical insights and data into customer-relatable values
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to work in an industrial-scale and field-based environment for demonstrating Proof of Applications.
- A flair for providing technical training – internally as well as externally
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi
- Ability to travel extensively, mainly within the MEIA region
