About the Role:
As an Open Innovation Intern at L’Oréal R&I, you’ll explore the cutting-edge world of deeptech and help identify emerging startup technologies relevant to cosmetic science. You’ll support the team in analyzing novel ingredients, formulating prototypes, and generating scientific insights to contribute to breakthrough cosmetic solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Technology Scouting & Analysis: Identify and assess startups in computational chemistry, biology, AI, and related fields with potential applications in beauty science.

Innovation Strategy: Analyze startup technologies and business models for potential collaborations. Prepare concise analytical reports and pitch decks.

Proof-of-Performance (POP): Assist in conceptualizing and prototyping shortlisted open innovation opportunities.

Formulation & Characterization: Participate in rapid prototyping, material characterization, and performance testing.

Project Management: Support meetings, timelines, and coordination across ongoing Open Innovation projects.
Candidate Profile:

Master’s or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, Computational Chemistry/Biology, or a related field.

Familiarity with formulation science, chemical/material characterization, and analytical instrumentation.

Knowledge of AI/ML algorithms and computational biology tools is a strong advantage.

Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

Collaborative mindset and curiosity about startups and innovation ecosystems.
