Introduction:
The Institute of Advanced Research (IAR) is an innovative modern university, which offers professionally focused undergraduate, postgraduate and research degree programs. The University was established under the Gujarat Private Universities Amendment Act, 2011 and recognized under section 22 and 2(f) of UGC. IAR was established in 2006 with the support of then President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam. Dr. Kalam along with the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat inaugurated the Institute. The University is financially supported by the Puri Foundation for Education in India, established by Professor Nathu Ram Puri, a leading industrialist in the UK with manufacturing and other businesses world-wide.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Honours
The Institute of Advanced Research (IAR) Gandhinagar is offering a 4 year Bachelor of Science Honours (B.Sc. Hons) program with a provision of attaining 1-year certificate course (44 credits), 2-year diploma degree (88 credits), 3-year degree pass course (132 credits) and 4-year B.Sc. Degree with Honours or Honours with research (176 credits) as per National Education Policy 2020. It is a meticulously structured undergraduate program as per UGC guidelines with a strong interdisciplinary research base in biological sciences. The program is suitable for UG students who have a strong fondness to learn through practical education and a vision to explore new possibilities in contributing to improving people’s lives and health.

M.Tech in Biotechnology

Ph.D Admissions
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is the highest degree one can gain through structured education, training and research. The education and training of doctoral students are two of the most important aspects of the Institute of Advanced Research. The pursuit of knowledge through research in doctoral degree leads to exciting careers in India and abroad. Ph.D. students also play a key role in our commitment to advance the knowledge to address national and global challenges. The aim of the Ph.D. program is to provide research training in a manner that fosters the development of independent research skill as well as professional competencies in students. These skills include the ability to formulate a problem that requires research and investigation, to develop appropriate conceptual and methodological skills, and to relate the student’s research to a broader knowledge in the area of study. All Ph.D. students are required to develop a substantive thesis based on critical analysis of their research and published studies in their subject area.

Procedure for Admissions:
- Applicants must submit admission application form with applicable fees for the respective program (separate forms if applying for more than one program) as per the admission schedule declared on the university website and in the Prospectus.
- University has set the criteria for merit and will offer admission to the applicant having 60% in the qualifying examination for UG and PG programs. Applicants having less percentage than 60 (or as per Gujarat State Government norms), may make contact concerned department Admission Counsellors for discussion on eligibility for admission.
- Applicants eligible for admission will be confirmed only after verification of eligibility and the payment of the applicable registration fees.
- Selected candidates will be informed of their admission. Students will have to pay the semester fee before commencement of the semester in order to confirm their seats.
- Applicants who fail to give the confirmation of admission by the last date, the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate.
- If a student fails to prove educational eligibility after the confirmation of provisional admission or if the application is based on wrongful information, his/her admission will be treated as Cancelled and the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate. In such cases, the application and registration fees will not be refunded.
- Admissions to B.Tech. and MBA programs are offered either through the centralized online admissions process conducted by the ACPC (Admission Committee for Professional Courses) or directly by IAR under the management quota. The prospective students need to check the websites: https://gujacpc.admissions.nic.in/, https://acpc.gujarat.gov.in/, for details on eligibility, admissions procedure and dates etc. for admissions sought through ACPC.
