About the Role
E-Merge Tech is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Research Associate (Bio-Curator) to join our team in Chennai. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a strong academic foundation in life sciences and a keen interest in disease biology and molecular research. You will be responsible for curating and integrating data from scientific publications, clinical trials, and biomedical databases.
Key Responsibilities
• Extract and curate information related to genes, proteins, diseases, ontologies, and pharmacology.
• Conduct literature searches using databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, Cochrane Library, Agricola, UniProt, etc.
• Validate gene sequences and biological data from scientific literature.
• Analyze and interpret data from research articles and study reports.
• Review scientific literature to derive meaningful conclusions.
• Document findings and report to the Team Leader.
Required Qualifications
• B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc. / B.Pharm / M.Pharm in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Microbiology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Excellent academic record.
Desired Skills and Competencies
• Strong foundation in life sciences, with exposure to disease biology.
• Good understanding of molecular and cell biology.
• High attention to detail
• Ability to interpret and synthesize scientific information quickly and accurately.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics databases (genes, proteins, ontologies) is desirable but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in identifying biological keywords and forming effective search strategies.
