Qualification: M.D / M.Sc in Medical Microbiology
Work Experience:
● Minimum of 6 months experience in a diagnostic/clinical microbiology laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
● Collect patient samples efficiently and safely following standard protocols.
● Perform microbiology sample processing including:

Streaking techniques for bacterial culture.

Various staining procedures for microbial identification.
-
Microscopy for morphological examination of microorganisms.
-
Culture processing for bacterial and fungal identification.
-
Conducting antibiotic sensitivity testing to determine microbial resistance patterns.
-
Handling automated diagnostic machines such as Vitek-2 & BactAlert for microbial identification and susceptibility testing.
-
Performing ELISA techniques for serological testing.
-
Conducting TB PCR & Line Probe Assay (LPA) for tuberculosis diagnosis.

Preparation and quality control of various culture media for microbiological testing.
Skills & Competencies:
● Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques and diagnostic methodologies.
● Experience with automated microbiology systems and molecular diagnostic tools.
● Good laboratory practice (GLP) and adherence to biosafety guidelines.
● Attention to detail and ability to interpret laboratory results accurately.
● Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with clinicians and laboratory staff.
Additional Requirements:
● Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a diagnostic laboratory.
● Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
● Willingness to work in a clinical setting and handle infectious samples responsibly.
