The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), established in 1983, is an international, intergovernmental organisation conceived as a Centre of excellence for research, training, and technology transfer to industry in the field of biotechnology to promote sustainable global development.
The Centre conducts innovative research in life sciences and strengthens the research capability of its over 69 Member States through training, funding programs, and advisory services. Located in Trieste (Italy), New Delhi (India), and Cape Town (South Africa), and in collaboration with over 40 Affiliated Centres worldwide, the three ICGEB Components provide a scientific and educational environment of the highest international standards. Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate (post-doctoral fellow) in the lab of Dr. Ramesh V. Sonti, Director, ICGEB, New Delhi.
Research Associate – (one post): Emoluments as per ICGEB norms.
Essential Qualification:
Candidates having a Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or a related field are eligible to apply. Candidates with M.Tech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics with three years of research experience can also apply as mentioned in DST office memorandum number
SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019.Desirable Qualification:
Candidates with prior research experience in plant microbiome analysis, duly supported with relevant publications in SCI journals, will be preferred.
DURATION:
Initial period of six months under Special Service Agreement (SSA). The above position is completely on a temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as per ICGEB norms.
The initial appointment will be for six months or till the tenability of the project, whichever is earlier, and the same can be curtailed/extended based on the candidate’s performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority.
ICGEB reserves the right to select the candidate for the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving a one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim, implicit or explicit, for consideration against any regular position of ICGEB.
