Position: Scientific Editor
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
Role Overview
The Scientific Editor is responsible for executing core editorial functions in a pharmaceutical advertising agency. This includes copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking for Consumer and HCP print and digital tactics, in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented role.
Responsibilities:
- Copy editing, proofreading, and fact-checking promotional marketing material, adhering to AMA and brand styles.
- Supporting the editorial team across brands and pharma clients, including high-science accounts.
- Interacting with Project Managers, Creatives, and Account members for efficient clarification and resolution of queries.
- Assisting in updating Editorial Style Guides for accounts.
- Ensuring that regulatory submissions conform to FDA guidelines.
- Assisting with editorial projects outside of regular workload, as needed.
- Flexibility to work late as needed, especially during product launches.
Required Skills:
- Extremely detail-oriented with a high level of proficiency in grammar skills.
- Strong working knowledge of AMA 11 guidelines and medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills and independent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments daily.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- High level of digital competency with computer-related technologies and applications; experience with Workfront Proof electronic routing is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of ad agency processes.
- Proficiency with FDA compliance mandates for pharmaceutical marketing promotions.
- Familiarity with a variety of product categories and therapeutic classes, with experience in oncology and diabetes desired.
- Prior launch experience is a plus.
- Flexibility to work in the UK shift (1:00 PM – 10:30 PM).
Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in life sciences or English.
Experience: 2-6 years of experience in copy editing is mandatory.
Work Location: Bangalore – Hybrid
