Advt. No. 27/2024 – Walk-in Interview

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following position at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.

Project Title: Therapeutic protein production in milk of farm animals to increase their affordability.

PI: Dr. Nirmalya Ganguli

Essential Qualifications:

• Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.) or Post Graduate degree in professional courses (M. Tech in Life Sciences, M. VSc., etc.) with 2 years of experience in any of the following areas.

Experience: (Candidates with prior experience in any of the following areas will be preferred.)

• Various molecular biology techniques, like RT-PCR, QRT-PCR, Immunohistochemistry, Immune cytochemistry, Droplet Digital PCR, protein purification, and western blot analysis
• Generation of expression vector by molecular cloning and its in vitro characterization, culture, and maintenance of cell lines
• Generation of expression vector for genome editing (knock-out and knock-in) using CRISPR-Cas9 tools
• Regulation of gene expression by shRNA-mediated knockdown
• Handling and experimentation on rodent, rabbit, and goat models

Fellowship Amount:

• Rs. 35,000/- + HRA (if applicable) for candidates with NET or GATE or who have undergone a selection process through national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions
• Rs. 28,000/- + HRA (if applicable) for others who do not have NET or GATE as per the DST guidelines

The online walk-in interview is scheduled for 24th Sep 2024 from 10.00 AM to 01.00 PM. Suitable candidates will be screened, intimated through email, and interviewed by the duly constituted selection committee online.

Original documents in support of date of birth, educational qualifications, and experience certificates must be submitted at the time of joining. No need to send a hard copy. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.
