Advertisement for the position of ‘Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)’ under the ‘ICMR’ funded project at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology
Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for the engagement of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in the research project funded by ICMR, Government of India, at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.

Title of the Research Project: Controlling Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) through novel VEGF-targeted aptamer tethered Pazopanib nanotherapy

Principal Investigator: Dr. Surajit Karmakar, Scientist-G

Name of the position available: Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)

Number of positions available: One

Essential Qualifications:

  • First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees (Life Sciences/Nanobiotechnology)
    OR
  • Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees with PhD (Life Sciences/Nanobiotechnology)

Desirable Experience:

  • Candidates with strong knowledge and research experience in the relevant Nanobiotechnology field with proficiency in animal handling.
  • Experience in Project Management.

Age limit: Must not be over 35 years as of 08.10.2024, which is

relaxable for certain reserved categories as per the rules of the Government of India.

Fellowship: Rs. 56,000/- per month + HRA as applicable

Last date of receipt of application: 8th October, 2024

Duration: Initially one year and may be extended based on the performance of the candidate and availability of funds.

General Terms and Conditions:

  • The position is purely temporary and on a contractual basis, renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds, for a maximum of three years or until the duration of the project.
  • The position is co-terminus with the project.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email to appear in the interview. No other communication in this regard will be entertained.
