National Initiative on Undergraduate Science (NIUS) BIOLOGY – 2024
Announcement for Batch XX
NIUS (Biology) programme is designed to provide extended nurture and guidance to undergraduate students in Biology. In this programme students will attend nurture camps organized by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), TIFR, Mumbai.
Applications are invited for NIUS (BIOLOGY) for the November 2024 batch from first year undergraduate students of any stream of Biology (B.Sc./ Int. M.Sc.) with at least 60% marks or equivalent grades in their Class X and Class XII examination. Applications are to be done ONLINE using the link given.
The camp will be held from 06th November – 13th November, 2024 at HBCSE, Mumbai. This camp will be an exposure and enrichment camp in the various areas of biology.

The list of selected students will be uploaded on this website by the evening of 04th October, 2024.

Please Note: Before starting to fill the application, the applicant should have a valid email ID. This email ID will be used for future login as well as for
any updates during their two-year NIUS term.Steps to submit your application online
- Applicants need to create an applicant profile
- An email with an activation link will be sent to you. Click on the link to activate your account.
- Login using your registered email ID and password and submit the application.
- Link for Confidential Recommendation Form will be sent to the referees.
- The application and the recommendation from your referees must be completed on or before September 18, 2024.
Instructions
Before proceeding to Applying online, please keep the following ready:
- Scanned image of your STD Xth and STD XIIth marksheets.
- Scanned photo/image of your recent photograph. (.jpg file of size not exceeding 2 MB)
- Your details, like, Name, Affiliation, Contact address (both e-mail and physical address) and
- Name, Designation, Department, Institute, Email ID of TWO referees who would be filling Confidential Assessment Form for you. They should be school/college teachers with whom you have interacted academically.
- Make sure that the referee emailIDs which you are providing are correct.
- Remind the referees to fill the online assessment form before deadline.
- You can check whether your application submission has been successful by signing in at this portal.
Please note:
- An application is considered complete only when:
- All the necessary documents including applicant’s photographs are uploaded correctly.
- Confidential Assessment Form is filled by both the referees.
