Applications are invited from eligible candidates for filling up one post of Project Research Scientist I on-contract basis for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project entitled “Deciphering the change in sleep architecture and its relation to circulating melatonin level, and circadian rhythm gene expression in Parkinson’s disease following deep brain stimulation surgery: A longitudinal video-polysomnography-based cohort study” under Dr. Rohan R. Mahale, Additional Professor, Department of Neurology and Principal Investigator, NIMHANS.

Essential Qualifications:
- First Class Post graduate degree in Neuroscience/Genetics/Biomedical Genetics/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Zoology/ Molecular Biology or related subjects.
- PhD degree in Neuroscience/Genetics/Biomedical Genetics/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/Life Sciences.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Candidates with prior experience in blood samples processing, nucleic acid extraction,
ELISA, Multiplex Suspension Assay, Gene Expression analysis, DNA methylation
analysis as well as recording and analysis of clinical data will be preferred. - Two first author peer reviewed publications in the relevant field.
Maximum Age Limit: 35
years. (Age relaxation may be given for exceptionally meritorious candidates).Emoluments: Rs.56,000/- + HRA 27% per month
Duration of the Post: 3 years. Initial appointment will be made for a period of 1 year, which will be extended every year for three years (or till the end of the project) depending upon the performance of the candidate.
